Desk Lamps

Desk lamps put focused light exactly where you read, write or work, leaving the rest of the room softly lit. This range suits home offices, student desks, bedside tables and shelves where space is limited.

How to choose a desk lamp

Start with the surface. A compact desk calls for a lamp with a small base, so that it does not crowd your keyboard or papers. A larger desk leaves room for a bigger shade and a more decorative design.

Next, think about the job. For long hours of reading or screen work, pick a lamp that directs light onto the page rather than into your eyes. For an evening corner, a lamp with a softer shade gives a warmer, more relaxed glow.

Finally, match the style to the room. A traditional shade suits a study with wooden furniture, while a clean, simple shape works well in a modern office or a bedroom.

If you need light for a larger area, such as a reading chair or a dark corner, take a look at our floor-standing lamps, which give wider coverage than a lamp on a table.

How do I know if the size is right for my room?

Every product page lists the real dimensions in centimetres, with a reference point to help you picture them. Our tip: cut a piece of cardboard to the diameter of the light and hold it up to the ceiling. Above a table, allow 70 to 80 cm (27.6 to 31.5 in) between the bottom of the light and the tabletop.

What if the light doesn’t match the photo?

We describe every design exactly as it is: dimensions, materials (including when there is plastic), and whether the bulb is included. If the product you receive doesn’t match its description, it counts as not as described: we replace it or refund you, and we cover the return postage.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. At checkout, choose the pay in instalments option offered: your order total is then split into several payments, subject to approval by the payment provider.

How long does delivery take?

Your order is prepared within 1 to 3 working days, then delivered in 7 to 12 working days by tracked delivery. Delivery is free, with no minimum spend.

Is it difficult to install?

It depends on the design. Table lamps and floor lamps simply plug into a socket. Pendant lights, chandeliers, ceiling lights and wall lights connect to the wires in your ceiling or wall, or to a plug-in ceiling connector, once the power is switched off at the fuse box.

Our installation guide takes you through every step; if you prefer, ask an electrician to fit it — the technical specifications give them everything they need.

Are bulbs included?

It’s stated in the technical specifications of every product (“Bulb: included” or “not included”), along with the bulb base. When bulbs aren’t supplied, the base is usually a standard one (E27 or E14) that you’ll find in any DIY shop.

Can I return a product?

Yes. Damaged, faulty or not as described: return at our expense, with a replacement or refund. If you simply change your mind, you have 14 days from delivery to send it back, unused and in its original packaging; in that case, return postage is at your expense.
